Business management system sync with Finvalda

Customers, sales, purchases, bank inflows and cash receipts go from the business management system to Finvalda automatically.

The client's network stays closed – nobody has to connect to it from outside.

Technologies
Node.js / TypeScript, MongoDB change streams, Socket.IO, Finvalda web service (FVS), PowerShell installer, Vitest

The task

The cloud business system had to feed Finvalda with customers, sales, purchases, bank inflows and cash receipts.

The solution

A one-way sync, triggered by database change streams, with a full sync on start.

No inbound access to the client's network

A small relay agent inside the client's network – a Node.js service with a Windows installer – connects out to the cloud service and forwards calls to Finvalda's web service. The client's network needs no inbound access.

Reliability

  • A timestamp guard stops the sync from re-triggering on its own writes.
  • Each document records its own error, and the sync carries on with the rest.
  • Cost of goods is included on orders.
  • Warehouse objects are created in Finvalda when they are missing.
How data reaches Finvalda while the client's network stays closed
  1. Business management system in the cloud

    • Customers
    • Sales
    • Purchases
    • Bank inflows
    • Cash receipts
  2. Each document goes over once

The agent connects out and fetches the work

    The client's network

    Closed to inbound connections
    1. Relay agent

Passes the work to Finvalda's web service

    2. Finvalda

      The data arrives automatically

Results

  • Customers, sales, purchases, bank inflows and cash receipts flow into Finvalda automatically.
  • The client's network stays closed to inbound connections.
